Colon Cancer

I just learned from my mom that my Aunt has a cancer in her colon. And mom said that my aunt is not going for any treatment or chemotherapy. She said she is just preparing herself to meet with the Lord. I’m not sure how the kids are taking it. My cousins are already grown up and I wonder if they’re doing something about it. At least if it’s still on the initial stage, I think it can be curable. When my hub’s cousin found out she had a cancer in lymphoma, it was already on stage 4. The most critical of all stages. And yet, they went for all treatments that could be done take away the cancer. But she died anyway. I wonder if these cancers could be avoided. Would … Read entire article »

Angel Raziel

I took another quiz from Facebook, which angel are you? And the answer is Angel Raziel. I’m not so much into all these studies of Angels. But I got curious of who this Angel really is. And if I want to learn something, where do I go? Of course, I go to google.com first, then to Wikipedia. And so, acoording to wikipedia, Raziel (Heb. רזיאל “Secret[s] of God”), is an archangel within the teachings of Jewish mysticism (of the Kabbalah of Judaism) who is the “Keeper of Secrets” and the “Angel of Mysteries.” He is associated with the Sephira Chokmah (the second of ten) in Olam Briah, one of the Four Worlds of Kabbalistic theory. Various teachings assign Raziel to diverse roles, including that of a Cherub, a member of the Ophanim, … Read entire article »

Kids' Vacation

Next month will be my kids’ school vacation again. It’s going to be a one-week break so I’m planning on what to do for their vacation. And since I’m saving up for something else, I think we’re not going anywhere. Maybe we’re going to drive somewhere for a day trip. Maybe go to Genting Highlands. Maybe make a one-day trip to Port Dickson or Melaka. My parents would still be around, I guess so it’s good to take them with us. We cannot do rv camping because it’s not viable here in Malaysia. Also, there’s not any rv towing services here. So we’ll probably just settle for a day trip. Maybe go to Sunway club for swimming everyday for 5 days. LOL. I guess that would be too much. Anyways, … Read entire article »

Exercise Machine

So many exercise machines are being introduced nowadays. One of them is the Kettlebells. Apparently, when used, it helps a person lose weight, build muscles and more energy. My take on these exercise machines is that you have to use it properly and follow instructions carefully. Otherwise, we waste our time and energy in doing it. Also, if you really really wanna lose weight, exercise with right equipment alone does not help. You have to establish a healthy lifestyle too. I remember when I was still working back in the Philippines, my officemate and I wanted to lose weight so we enrolled ourselves in a gym. So three times a week, after work, we would go to the gym. But you know what, right next to the gym is a restaurant … Read entire article »

Solar Eclipse on July 22, 2009

I can’t remember when’s the last time I saw a solar eclipse. I think it was in my primary years that we were all excited to see the eclipse. We prepared a lot of things to be able to see the eclipse. According to the supersitious beliefs, you can’t directly look at the solar eclipse which we gladly believed. So we looked at the sun using negative films, sunglasses, etc. I think there’s a scientific explanation. No one can actually really look directly at the sun. And when you look at it directly, you won’t be able to see the eclipse. But when you use sunglasses, it will be very clear. So yes, tomorrow, on Wednesday morning of July 22, 2009, there’s going to be a total solar eclipse. The solar eclipse … Read entire article »

Elegance

I just finished another book entitled Elegance by Kathleen Tessaro. It’s actually a novel. But the writer’s writing style is inspired by Elegance, a book by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux. The Elegance by GAD was a guiding inspiration for this book. It’s a story of an American woman, Louise Cannova living in England. Recently divorced, she just realizes that after being mistaken as pregnant, she has to do something about it. And she picks up a book by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux and it became her guideline with her pursuit of getting elegant. Genevieve apparently wrote fashion tips from A-Z. The flow of the story goes with that. Louise religiously follows the tips. She painstakingly goes to the gym, changed her diet (and if i was the author, i would throw in her popping … Read entire article »

Different Gifts, Different Ways

“God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” —1 Corinthians 12:6 7 Encouragement for Today God works in different ways with different people. We need to let God do his work in his own way in the lives of other people rather than trying to codify our own experience of him to make it normative for other people. Are you open to how God might be working in other people’s lives, and do you look for ways to enhance that through your own spiritual gifts? That is how Jesus wants us to relate to each other as his body. —Diane Eble, author of Abundant Gifts: A Daybook of Grace-Filled … Read entire article »

I Love the Internet

Internet brings the whole world right at your finger tips. But when misused, it can also break. I have been taking slow in the internet these days. I find I can do more. It just so hard to stay away from it because most of the time, I’m alone at home. I am the kind that want to find out everything. I hear one term I haven’t come across before, I straight away go to the computer and connect to the internet and start with google. When kids are sick, I straight away check the internet to see what’s really causing them to be sick. There are some home remedies that I have learned just by clicking through the internet. And before purchasing things, I check the internet on which product … Read entire article »
