Grateful for His Gift

I got a pair of earrings as a gift for Valentine’s day from my husband. I’m not so big on jewelries. I love using accessories though. But when I saw this four-leaf clover shaped earrings, I fell in love with it straight away. Now they almost don’t want to leave my ears. LOL. And no, I haven’t given him tangible stuff for a Valentine’s gift. I let you in a little secret. My husband is a bit fussy when it comes to his things. He doesn’t simply use or wear things he doesn’t like. So I wonder if personalized gifts for men would work on him. Because you see, everytime I buy him something, he must be there to choose it. Not that I don’t know his taste. He just wants … Read entire article »

Young but not so Young

I do quite a bit of public speaking internationally, and quite often than not, I get a second look when I am introduced. For some odd reason, they usually think I am a much older person, only to realize they have a young speaker. Funny, but interesting. Some people have said that my name and profile goes before me, and so they didnt quite expect to meet a younger me. Anyway, all this is to say, I am older than people envisage, but I got this baby looking face, and so people think I just got out of college, which I think is a compliment, but only if they knew I am close to 40, than they would understand the profile. Having said all this, no one actually noticed … Read entire article »

Eat and be Merry

When I first heard of Lipozene, I thought it had something to do with Lypo-section . Funny, how scientific words can be confusing. I even thought the word ‘Lipozene’ meant a treatment to make the lips smaller hahaha! Only after I found out what it was I felt really silly. Anyways, with all my traveling globe trotting, I eat so much. I simply enjoy the different cultures and food. There are some things I must eat when I travel to Thailand. They are my non-negotiables. My few favourite food is Tom Yam, Pad Thai, Manggo sticky rice, Ma Muang (Maggo salad). I never miss them. Needless to say, I put on lots of weight when I am in Thailand. But science has its favour on mankind, and … Read entire article »

To Tattoo or not to Tattoo?

My cousin, who is now in his thirties , had his body tattoo’ed when he was in his early twenties. He actually looks really cool with the tattoo, and I must admit they were very well done. I think he had it done in the US. All the girls on the beach would notice him, and his body. They would drool just watching his beautiful tattoo. I can’t exactly remember the design but they were big tattoos. Its been over ten years now, and he now is thinking of removing the tattoos. He kind of feel awkward when he opens his shirt , and everyone notices his tatoo’ed big tummy. It’s really hilarious. When he was younger, he had muscles and 6 packs on his abdomen, but not all he … Read entire article »

Discovering Culture is Like Peeling Off the Onions

Going on overseas trips has its privileges. One thing I do enjoy a lot is learning their cultures. What’s interesting is you learn to discover their culture like how you would peel off an onion skin. The more you peel off, the more you discover and understand their cultures and values. In all honestly, I do really appreciate learning about my new environment. You just have to be more observant, listen carefully , and look a lot so you know how they do things. Even the way they eat has to be observed or even the way they use the cutneraries. One thing for sure, you cannot run away from is food. That is one thing your friends overseas will treat you to, their local food. When I am overseas, … Read entire article »

A Vain Pot? Maybe Not

Someone once called me a vain pot . I thought that was quite amusing coz’ I really never thought one would think of me that way. Anyway, most people won’t admit this, but I know most people care about their faces. Like it or not, we all want to look beautiful, especially the older you get the more conscious you get. Funny how we become more aware of our ageing skin the older we get. These past week I spent at the beach at Koh Phayam (Thailand), one of the top few beaches in the world. Lots of European tourist flood the beach. The sea water is crystal clear. It’s serene. Quiet. Good food. They even have nice Russian food. Whilst my fellow Europeans loved the summer , I disliked … Read entire article »

Reminiscing Atlanta

Atlanta brings a lot of pleasant memories. We did lots of fun stuff in Atlanta. We attended Passion 2010, went to the mountains, spent time with friends, drove around, and had a really good time of rest, which we really needed. We thank God , we were able to take some time off from our busy schedule to go on a short two-week break. We stayed at OMNI Hotel at the CNN Centre, and we had the opportunity to visit the CNN headquarters. It was kinda a neat feeling epscially sitting in the newsroom watching the anchors presenting the news. You would normally see them on tv only , but this time we were right inside the CNN newsroom. That indeed was a thrilling experience. We also stayed … Read entire article »

Save the Date

My couple friends are going to get married in a couple of months time. I am excited for them. I know both of them so that is an added excitement. I told them I was going to the Philippines and would probably be attending their wedding after they sent their save the date cards to us and to their invited friends. But I guess now that I know my husband is going to the US during that time, I couldn’t make it to their wedding. It’ quite sad. I was really hoping to be there on their special day. But anyways, it’s my kids first. I don’t want both of us, parents, to be away and leave the kids behind again. But of course, even if I couldn’t attend the wedding, … Read entire article »
