I read The Hobbit after watching The Lord of the Rings – Fellowship of the Rings last December 2001. I had my friend from the US send me the four books of J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings – trilogy and The Hobbit). The Hobbit basically is the introduction of the trilogy. The story will get you through how Bilbo Baggins found the ring… or more like how Smeagol (who became Gollum), took the ring from his cousing, who found the ring at the riverbed… the one ring that would rule them all.
