Before buying things, gadgets, electronics, camera accessories, I tend to visit forums and see their reviews. I believe getting opinions from others before investing on something is worth it. Before buying my Nikon D90, I went into so many forums, asked friends around, etc. I didn’t want to make any mistakes because I really want to make photography work. And so, yes, getting reviews from forums is a good and more personal way. I say more personal because most of the forum posters are real people who really use the product and have real experience with the product. Now that I am planning on getting that extra accessory for my camera, you would see me invisibly reading all the reviews.

But there’s not enough time. I hear this all the time. Sometimes it’s true for myself. But I find that if I manage my time well, there’s always time for everything. Like today, I plan to finish a lot of things. So I woke up early. I just finish one job of writing. After this post, I am going to clean my kitchen. There are still unwashed dishes from last night’s dinner. I need to fix my faucet coz there’s a bit of water leaking through it. This is the time when I wish I had one of those Moen kitchen faucets instead… but oh well, maybe I’ll just have to be contented with this one for awhile. Then I am planning to wash all the bed sheets and curtains upstairs. Writing my plan for today makes my head swirl. LOL. But I do plan to manage my time well today. So I will let you know later if I did well on it.

Which Career is Best for you?

Back in my time when we chose our college degrees (that was like 20 years or so ago), we would usually choose the ones that’s famous and glamorous, neglecting our real skills, passions and interests. One of my friends chose an engineering degree but after she finished her college, she didn’t work as an engineer. She excelled so much in sales career you wouldn’t know that she took a different degree. I for one chose a different degree but ended up in another career. But I didn’t have regrets though.

Now, (almost all) people are more conscious of their interests and passion. So they choose the right career for them from the very start.

Gadget Insurance

I actually posted on my other blog about getting a gadget insurance after discovering an iphone 4 insurance on the net. I did say I want to look more into it and found some benefits of getting your iphone 4G insurance. First, you can make claims for accidental damages. It can include damages from getting it wet or dropping it. Isn’t it great? You know phones nowadays are so sensitive that you really have to be extra careful when handling it.

It’s just great to know that there’s such thing as insuring it to cover damages. If I had an iphone 4, I would definitely get it insured. What about you? What kind of phone are you using? Is it eligible for insurance? Go check it out!

My New Camera

Right after I got my new camera, somebody posted in my facebook newsfeed about the dangers of theft-snatching a camera bag. It has been rampant in the area apparently. It actually gave me a scare. And so, I am thinking of getting an insurance quote and probably insure my new toy.

I remember we had an LCD projector in the office and the office was broken into. They took the lcd projector. The good thing was, it was insured. So the hubby claimed it to the insurance company and they were able to get a replacement for the stolen lcd projector.

That sort of encouraged me to buy insurance for my camera. And I know I have to do it soon.

Business Card

When I got the invitation to attend a media event, my husband straight away wanted to make business cards for me. He said it would be good to exchange contacts with others who would be attending the event too. We actually asked a friend to design for us… which he did. After he designed the card, we sent it to a friend who owns one of those business card printing services but apparently, when we sent the soft copy, it was already too late to make it on time for me to use. It would have been exciting to exchange cards but oh well… maybe it’s not my time yet.

Weekend Plan

It’s Friday, 9:00 in the morning. My family is still sleeping. I woke up only at 8:30 so I thought it would be too late to wake the kids up for school. And besides, they’ve been very tired yesterday. So I just let them sleep in. So we have an early start to the weekend. And while they’re sleeping, might as well plan on what to do.

It would be nice to do barbecue with an outdoor electric grill. My kids love doing barbecue. I guess it’s better to use the electric grill to avoid heavy smoke. My husband is still suffering from asthma attack. Hmmm… guess we just let him stay indoor while we do barbecue outside.

Movie on my Computer

I have been watching movies on my computer. My kids had somehow spoiled our dvd player. When I watch movie on my computer and I don’t want my kids to see, I use headphone so they won’t know I’m watching tv. So cheeky mom, me… huh? LOL. Anyways, I need to buy another set of headphones. Not exactly sure which one to buy though. Guess this is where headphone reviews come in handy.

Souvenir from Brunei

Last year when I came to Brunei, I didn’t buy any souvenirs for friends nor family. I did shop though, but just for my kids. Samantha has been asking for Thumbelina bag and I looked everywhere but couldn’t find one. It’s a good thing that she has outgrown Thumbelina Barbie already. Now she has stopped asking me for it.

But I guess I really have to find some souvenirs now. May get some custom mugs, key chain, or fridge magnet. I hope we’ll have time to go shopping around. If not, I’ll go home empty-handed again.

The Weather

These days, the weather is too erratic. Today, it rains hard tomorrow will be hotter than Sahara Desert. Because of climate change and global warming, we can only guess tomorrow’s weather. Even weather stations or reports from the news can no longer be trusted. I watched the weather report last night and today, it ought to be sunny day. But now it’s raining buckets here with strong winds and no hint of sun. We must always prepare ourselves for whatever incidents there are in the future. We must build sturdier home and revitalize our urban plans to be ready for calamities to come. Check health insurance quotes to get the best possible health insurance for the family. Or plant trees for tomorrow’s generation, our kids and their kids. There are more ways to prepare for our future and the future of our children because we must not only think of ourselves but for those people who come after us. For a development to be sustainable it must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
